Christmas Twenty20 results

The weekend saw seven teams take to the field for Herbert River Crickets inaugural Twenty20 competition with Semi-United Blues winning the carnival narrowly over the Crusher Old Boys.

Teams came out of the woodwork to get into some Christmas Twenty20 action after the carnival was washed out at the start of the year. To keep it competitive teams were limited to the amount of Herbert River players each team could have. Teams included a Goldfield Ashes teams (Smelly Boxes), ex-footballers (Crushers Old Boys) and one team that gave themselves little hope of winning (No Chance). There were many highlights from the games including Gilbo’s XI Captain Brett Gilbey retiring three times on 50 not out in three consecutive games.

The Cellarbration Christmas raffle was also drawn raising over $450 towards Herbert River Crickets Goldfield Ashes 2018 campaign. The winner of the $1000 open order was Don Oswin from Trebonne.

The juniors return on Saturday February 3rd with Milo Cricket returning on Friday the 2nd of 2018.
